Should recover after a few seconds
Thank you for looking at my submission!
This game was made for the Godot Wild Jam 72 as a solo project with the theme of "Light and Dark"
This is my fourth game jam, and this one went quite well. I had a lot more time to put into this jam vs previous ones, and I was happy with the direction I got to take the theme.
HOW TO PLAY
- WASD Movement
- E to check stats
- Mouse controlled combat
DESCRIPTION / THEME - "Light and Dark" (And wildcard)
I wanted to take 'Light and Dark' in a different direction, and ultimately decided on the idea of a karma system. The items you pick up, the decisions you make, etc - all have a light or dark rating attached to them. Together, these set your character's light value. Light values effect dialogue and combat stats.
For the wildcards, I was able to fulfil ~2/3:
- Dynamic Perspective - Use more than one camera in your game
- This might be a stretch, but the original idea was for the combat to be 'first person'. Originally your weapon would be represented in the combat panel to give it more of a first person appearance.
- Curses - Difficulty increases with powerups
- Each item typically has positives and negatives, and combat is effected by your karma in positive and negative ways
- What The Duck - Include at least one duck in your game
- May I introduce you to the Eldritch Duck
CREDITS
- Art, Programming, Music, Game Design, Story, Midlife Crisis, Etc - LGWV (that's me)
CUTTING ROOM FLOOR
- Shop NPC
- I originally had the idea of being able to sell some of your Karma / Light for items, but never got it working to the point I liked
- I originally had the idea of being able to sell some of your Karma / Light for items, but never got it working to the point I liked
- First person weapons during combat
- Would have required a lot more art time, sadly
